Who are the Trollz?

Trollz are the 21st century versions of the Trolls, who were a global sensation in the Sixties. Licensed worldwide by DIC Entertainment and distributed by Hasbro, Trollz attempt to appeal to tweens – those aged between child and teens. The five Trollz, known as BBFL's (Best Friends For Life) face the normal challenges of growing up – making friends, shopping, meeting boys, having to go to school etc, but they are also faced with the separate world of being Trollz and learning that they have magical powers! Amethyst, Ruby, Topaz, Onyx and Sapphire (the five BBFL's) all live in the city of Trollzopolis and love to hang out, chatting about boys, fashion and life – but they soon realise their magical powers can make life much more exciting!

The girls are all in the ninth grade, which makes them 14 years old, and each has a gem stone in her belly button that starts to shine when she is old enough to perform magic. In the first movie the Trollz star in, the girls learn how jealousy can lead to trouble and they have to fight for their friendships. The Trollz are mostly about showing young children the fun and adventures of growing up, and each girl has a special quality (e.g. loyalty, honesty, strong will, etc) which makes them great role models for young girls. However they have also been completely revamped, and are now seen as a mix between the fashionable Bratz Dolls and the wild-haired Trolls of from the Sixties.

While the girls are dealing with their new found magical powers and discovering how best to use them, they are also trying to get noticed – mostly by their fellow ninth-graders Alabaster, Rock, Jasper, Coal and Flint! Like all young girls growing up, these Trollz will have to embark on all kinds of adventures to discover who they are – but at least they all have close friends to help them out! Although the Trollz are fashion conscious and cool, they are also innocent and cute too.

The Troll Girls

Amethyst

Amethyst's full name is Amethyst Van Der Troll and she is the best friend any girl could ever wish for – she's totally loyal and loves having her BBFL's over to her 'crib' to chat about hair, boys and magic. Amethyst is the Troll with the huge purple hair and matching eyes, she also wears purple and has a purple dog called WaWa! She really likes boy Troll Coal (the one with the green hair) but she knows he's shy – perhaps the girls will put a spell on him! Amethyst is a really cute character, but extremely cool and fashionable too! Her gem is a heart.

Ruby

Ruby's full name is Ruby Trollman and she thinks of herself as the leader of the group – she always tells things how they really are and will always back her BBFL's up 100%. Ruby has huge red hair, styled in spikes (a bit like a star!) and matching red eyes. She has a wardrobe jam-packed with clothes and loves fashion and although she's popular she thinks it's more important to just be yourself. She's a strong character with heaps of personality and her gem is a star.

Topaz

Topaz's full name is Topaz Trollhopper and she is the fashion queen! She lives for fashion and shopping, shopping, shopping! She also loves hanging out with her BBFL's and chatting about boys, shopping, hair and more shopping! Topaz is a great listener and is also the funniest of the group – although she rarely means to be! She has bright blonde hair and brown eyes and is one of the prettiest of the Trollz. She has a crush on Jasper but is usually too busy thinking about shopping! Her gem is a diamond.

Onyx

Onyx's full name is Onyx Von Trollenberg and she's sarcastic and pretty funny! Troll boys cant do magic, so Onyx believes girls rule in Trollzopolis – and if the boys disagree she'll just put a magic spell on them! She's loyal to her BBFL's and loves hanging out with them, watching scary movies and being in the dark! Her favourite line is 'Deal with it', and she's got a crush on Flint. Onyx has huge blue hair which she wears in two really high pigtails and she looks like she's got a lot of attitude! Her gem stone is a half crescent.

Sapphire

Sapphire's full name is Sapphire Trollzawa and she's the braniac of the group. She loves to study and has pretty much memorised every spell there is! If she's not studying, Sapphire loves to hang out with her BBFL's and spend time at the coffee house. Sapphire is really cute, with huge blue hair and baby blue eyes and she hopes Alabaster will notice her! Her gem stone is a flower and she's got a huge heart – she's a kind character and always puts her friends first.

Trollz Rocking Stockings

Sapphire, Onyx, Topaz, Ruby and Amethyst are all dressed in funky stockings in this Rocking Stocking collection! With their magical powers they sure look like real little witches now! All the girls have long hair which can be styled and a funky little outfit too. They all come with their own comb and other accessories, such as a mobile phone.

Trollz Move and Groove Skootz

Trollz Move and Groove girls all come with their very own scooter! The scooter lights up and makes real sounds too - the girls all look great whizzing around Trollzopolis on their new vehicles, maybe the Trollz boys will notice them now! Every girl comes with a fab second outfit and a comb.

Big Hair is Back Fashion Dolls

The five BBFL's show how much they now about fashion with their new hair-dos in this funky collection. Each comes with their very own hair-raising style, and hair accessories are included too. The girls also come with two outfits so they can mix and match their clothes with their new hair styles! This collection comes with so many cool accessories, the girls will spend hours choosing how to wear their hair.

Dressed to Impress Trollmaker Collection

This collection is all about the clothes. Amethyst, Onyx, Sappire, Ruby and Topaz all come seperately with 2 tops, 2 bottoms, 2 pairs of shoes and their very own comb. The two outfits can all be mixed and matched, but the clothes all fit every doll so there's a total of ten outfits to mix and match if all the Troll girls share!

Rock Candy Collection Fashion Dolls

Rock Candy is the girls favourite boutique in the mall and this collection has the five girls all showing off their latest bargains! With outfits and accessories that are designed to dazzle, the Trollz all look amazing - Rock Candy really is the hippest place to shop! With so many accessories, the girls can create so many different styles - but whatever they choose, they always look great!

Trollz Pad Trollmaker Playsets

The Trollz Playsets are fab for the girls to hang about in after a hard day of using their magical powers. Available are the Media Lounge Playset, the Posh Patio Playset and the Pretty Powder Room Playset. The Media Lounge Playset has two floors and comes with one of the Troll girls, a TV and remote, sofa, mirror, rug, phone, lava lamp, clock and pillow - how fab! The Posh Patio Playset comes with one of the Troll girls, a table, a lounge chair, a patio table with umbrella, a blanket, a beach bag, grill, tongs, hot dog and hamburger - for when the girls fancy a BBQ on the patio. The Pretty Powder Room Playset is great for when the girls need some pampering and a hot, bubbly bath! The set includes one of the Troll dolls, a sink, rug, brush, hair clip, perfume bottle, bathtub and bathrobe.

The Playsets all connect to eachother to create a huge lounge/patio/powder room - what more could five young girls want! All they need now is a huge party to show it all off! Some of the Playsets do need assembling.

Meet the Girls Trollmaker Fashion Purses

Ruby, Amythest, Topaz, Sapphire and Onyx all come with four tops, four bottoms, four pairs of shoes, comb and barrette each. Apparently more than 60 different looks can be created with all the different clothes! The toys all come packed in a cute little case that can be carried around too.

Best Friends For Life

This is the first Trollz movie and is all about the five BBFL's growing up and discovering they are able to perform magic. Amethyst finally learns how to use her magical powers but Ruby becomes jealous and zaps her with an unpopularity spell! Not a nice thing for one of her best friends to do! But the spell doesn't go quite to plan and Amethyst will have to decide if she can save Ruby and their friendship. Meanwhile the girls also have to cope with the challenges of growing up, discovering boys, hair and fashion!

Magic Of The Five

The second Trollz movie is all about learning how to work as a team and the benefits it can have. The five BBFL's mistakenly trust Simon, a power-hungry gremlin, and their gems start to lose their shine. This means they won't be able to perform magic! Simon and his sidekick, Snarf, have planned all along to steel the girls' magical powers, but the girls become stronger than ever and decide to teach Simon and Snarf the 'Magic of the five'.
