Kid K-Nex Pixie PrincessFrom ToyReviewK-Nex is a world renowned construction toy for children aimed mainly at the 4-8 age groups. However there are now kid k'nex kits available for younger builders. The kid k'nex sets have larger construction pieces and additional fun features such as eyes and plastic hair. These sets are ideal to introduce to children at about the age of three so they can practise for the more complicated k'nex projects. This Pixie Princess toy is a favourite among young builders because she is bright and fun with princess accessories. The toy is particularly aimed at young girls due to the pink and purple colour range and the Princess title. She comes already crafted into a girl character (shown to the left in her packaging) but there are many ways to position the pieces and many characters to be created. There are 25 pieces in the kit so why don't you see how many new friends you can build. [edit] Character IdeasHere are some ideas of what you can build with the kit: You can build a cute baby figure shown to the right by using only seven of the twenty five accessories (eyes, crown, hand, 3 sticks and an octagon). The character looks like a sad baby alien or something you might find under the water! Another great invention is this puppy figure. It will require twenty out of the twenty five pieces therefore it is one of the more complicated characters to build. The pieces are cleverly crafted so you can turn them upside down and create other body parts – like how the hands have become ears in this creation. By rearranging the k'nex pieces slightly you can make many other animals or many other poses for the puppy. The favourite character to build is the Pixie Princess and here are two ideas of how to position her. The first is to give her high pigtails and a crown on her octagonal shaped head making her appear young and innocent. For her body, use the remaining octagons and give her two short legs and shoes. Her arms and hands are the same in both ideas and she holds her magic Princess wand. The second Princess looks like a slightly funkier toy; she has lowered her pigtails and has long legs by using only one octagon for her body. She is positioned with legs apart and tilted to the left. What a funky Pixie Princess she is! [edit] Pieces Included in the KitThere are twenty five pieces overall but you don't have to use them all in every creation. Sometimes you may only want to use five or six and make a small character or you could try and create something adventurous by using all the pieces. Below are the pieces included:
