Fimbles is a television programme that revolves around the Fimbles (Fimbo, Florrie and Baby Pom) discovering new and exciting things when they get the 'Fumbling Feeling'. It teaches young children aged between two and four to use their imagination and explore new things. The Fimbles live in Fimble Valley and are joined by their friends Roly Mo, Ribble, Rockit and Bessie. Fimble Valley is a magical place where anything is possible and each day brings new and exciting discoveries. The merchandise that accompanies the series is great and the Fimbles even have their own show at the theatre! The Fimbles resemble Teletubbies and Tweenies (as far as their costumes are concerned) and although they are not as well known, they are thought to become just as popular in the future.

The Fimbles are aimed at young children between the ages of 2 and 4 and are produced by Novel Entertainment. All the characters live in Fimble Valley and each episode begins with Roly Mo telling a story. Fimbles have been extremely popular with young audiences and in 2004 Fimbles was the ninth biggest license in the total toy and game market. Fimble Valley is an enchanting place with locations such as the Bubble Fall, the Happy Hollow, the Comfy Corner, the Playdips and the Tinkling Tree. Since Fimbles was launched on Cbeebies in 2002, over 1 million parents and carers watch the programme with their young children each day.

Fimbo is a fun-loving character who can be mischievous at times. He often sings and dances and even has his own instrument - the Shimmy Shaker. Florrie is always curious and full of energy – she too loves songs and games and always has hold of her doll – Little One. Baby Pom is still only young but she urges her friends to play, sing and find. In each episode, the Fimbles get the 'Fimbling Feeling' when they find an interesting everyday object and become excited to explore their find, imagining what it's for and how they can play with it. When they get the 'Fimbling Feeling' their topknots twitch and their noses wrinkle with excitement! Fimbles encourages preschool children to find things out, use their imagination and explore new things. The excitement the Fimbles feel when they find a new object is similar to the wonder and stimulation children experience when they come across new things.

The success of the television programme has led to a spin-off series called the Roly Mo Show. The show is aimed at slightly older children – those aged between three and six, and is set in Roly Mo's home with a whole host of new characters. Roly Mo is the oldest character of the Fimbles, he's a laid back mole who loves to tell stories and seems to have a new story to fit every occasion! Fimbles live in a world where anything is possible and every day brings new and exciting discoveries. Fimbles is full of fun, games, songs and discovery, they have their very own website and loads of great toys to accompany the series.

Character Appearance's

Fimbo is a big green and yellow striped character. He has green ears and a few strands of green hair – the costume is simple but effective. He has a long nose, little eyes and a big mouth. He is usually seen with his musical instrument, a Shimmy Shaker, and loves to sing, dance and eat! Florrie is a big blue and purple character. She has blue ears, purple hair, a purple nose and a big mouth. She is usually seen with her doll, Little One, and also loves to sing and dance. Baby Pom is a green and pink striped character. She has green ears and pink hair – again simple but effective. Roly Mo is the eldest of the Fimbles and has huge purple and green stripes, with a smaller nose than the rest of the characters. Rockit is a blue tree-frog. He has bright red stripes across his body and yellow hands and feet. Rockit has big eyes and always tries to make the Fimbles laugh! Bessie is a pink, fluffy bird and has a chick of her own – Ribble. Ribble is a little orange, furry character with only a nose for facial features. All the characters wear bright costumes but keep them simple with minimal detail.

I am mad about the Fimbles. I have lots of Fimbles toys and I love Fimbles. Fimbo is my favourite toy. I have lots of DVD's that I watch all the time and a CD in my car to listen to. And when I sneeze, I always say bless you.
