The My Little Ponies are all dressed up as princesses in this fantastic 'Crystal Princess' collection. New for 2006, the ponies all have heads that turn and come packaged in jewel-shaped boxes! Hasbro, who produce the toys, have continued to impress little girls everywhere with their new and exciting designs – the ponies always have a fresh appearance and this keeps them in demand. Each pony has their own personality and comes with details such as their birthday and favourite colour – this makes each pony unique and a great collectable. The Crystal Princess ponies even have their own movie out on DVD in spring 2006, their dreams of becoming princesses may even come true! My Little Pony is a great brand that has been around for over 20 years, and looks set to be staying put in the toy market with constant popularity.

Collection History

The My Little Pony brand has once again launched another great collection – this time it’s the Crystal Princess theme. Since their first appearance in the 1980’s, the collectable My Little Ponies have maintained a place in the toy market and over 20 years on, the ponies are still a popular toy. The manufacturers of the product, Hasbro, have launched a new collection almost every year since 1982, each collection having a new theme. The Crystal Princess theme first appeared in stores late 2005, however is officially a 2006 collection. The packaging has been redesigned into jewel-shaped boxes and there have been design changes to the ponies themselves too; all the ponies have heads that turn! Each pony comes with details such as their birthday month, favourite colour, favourite thing to do and favourite flower. Ponies in this collection include Pretty Pattern Ponies, Crystal Design Ponies, Cutie Cascade Ponies, a new line of Pegasus Ponies, and tiny ponies called Breeziest. The Crystal Princess ponies will be featuring in their own movie in spring 2006, where one of their dreams might just come true!

My Little Pony has become a widely recognisable brand and the fact that Hasbro has created a continuous demand for the cute characters for so long, means they obviously have something unique to offer young children. There are design changes in each collection, which means the toys stay fresh and exciting. A Points Program (where ponies carry Pony Points on their packaging) has been around for a long time, however there have recently been rumours that Hasbro is changing the program and many of the Crystal Princess Ponies don’t carry any Pony Points. Many accessories and play sets have been bought out to accompany the different collections and this theme comes with the Crystal Rainbow Castle, where all the ponies can play together. The Crystal Princess collection is magical and will provide hours of entertainment for young girls everywhere!

Princess Accessories

Each new collection is different from previous ones, this makes the toys fresh and exciting – little girls and collectors are desperate to see what Hasbro has created this time! Although each new range has a new theme, the traditional features such as the ponies shape, and purpose have remained the same, but new colours etc. are used to change their appearance. Since their introducion, My Little Ponies have all had a coloured body, mane, tail and unique symbol on their hips. Sometimes new designs are made to the toys, such as their heads being able to turn in this collection. The Crystal Princess theme sees all the ponies dressed as princesses – they look truly magical!
