Overview

The ponies from Ponyville are setting off to explore the magic and mystery at Butterfly Island, and with so many characters, colours and accessories included you'll never get bored with this pony adventure. The ponies were produced as the main My Little Pony collection for 2005, other ponies were introduced alongside the Butterfly Island Range but these weren't quite as popular with young My Little Pony lovers! There is an endless choice of toys in this collection, ranging from the basic single pony packs to 'Scootin' Along' Ponies, larger soft cuddly Ponies and play sets like the 'Rainbow Wishes Amusement Park'. The series is an excellent follow-on from the previous 2004 collection 'Friendship Ball'; which was also a huge success. Hasbro – the manufacturers of My Little Pony merchandise have been producing the characters since 1982 and even now, 25 years on the toys are just as popular and are selling by the millions.

Some of the Characters in Butterfly Island

Dazzle Bright Ponies

Each Dazzle Bright character has a brightly coloured body and at least three different colours in their hair and tail; their manes are particularly streaky. There are four ponies in this category which are as follows:

• Bowtie – A white pony with bright multicoloured hair and a bow symbol on her hip.

• Kiwi Tart – Bright yellow body, bright pink and green hair and a kiwi slice symbol.

• Seaspray – A turquoise body with a star symbol on hip and bright multicoloured hair.

• Beachberry – A pale pink pony with a berry symbol and bright pink and purple hair.

Shimmer Ponies

The Shimmer ponies stand out due to their bright extra shiny hair, there are also four in the set which are:

• Shelle-Belle – A bright pink pony with green hair and tail and a shell symbol.

• Fizzy Pop – A pretty purple pony with pink hair and an ice-cream symbol on her hip.

• Island Rainbow – The bright orange character with pink/purple hair and a symbol of an island with a rainbow.

• Waterfire – Bright turquoise character with orange hair and a symbol of a fire over water.

Seaside Ponies

The seaside characters come with loads more accessories than the single pony packs and each set of accessories are different. The ponies have an item of clothing and an animal friend to accompany them among other items. Here are some of the seaside ponies:

• Skywishes – This pony is pink with light purple hair and a kite and butterfly symbol on her hip. She has a cool grass skirt, parrot friend and some musical instruments.

• Golden Delicious – A white character with pink and yellow hair and a heart symbol. A turtle friend, surf board and frisby come with the set.

• Wysteria – A shiny pink pony with pale pink hair who comes with a pink dress, bucket and spade, camera and sunglasses.

• Cherry Blossom – A dark cherry pink pony with pink and purple hair. A basket, mobile phone, sunglasses and beach towel come with the set.

Bumblesweet – A cute yellow pony with pink hair and some spotty pink shorts and t-shirt.

Scootin' Ponies

Scootin' Along ponies come with a colourful scooter (that wheels along), a helmet, basket and purse; they'll clearly be getting to Butterfly Island first! Some of the ponies in this style are:

• Breezie – An all white character with long golden hair and a tree symbol on her hip. Her scooter is pink and green and she wears a pink and purple helmet.

• Scooter Sprite – A Dark cherry pink pony with pink and purple hair and a scooter symbol on her hip. Her scooter and helmet are both blue.
