[edit] What are Bratz Dolls?Bratz are small dolls targeted at young girls and boys who have what they call 'a passion for fashion'. These 10-inch characters are dressed in the funkiest new outfits, some with their own name and nickname attempting to appeal to a young audience from about the age of 10 to mid teens.    
Bratz have proven to be extremely popular in many countries, a must have by all and in some respects have taken over the doll market, replacing previous figures such as Barbie. Their popularity is thought to be due to their uniqueness compared to other similar products; their outfits are much more extreme and reflect characters such as Cher from the film 'Clueless' rather than how young teenagers would actually dress. Their trendy fashion sense makes girls want to dress like them, although it is unlikely they will! People have criticized the Bratz dolls because they are thought to portray a distorted idea that the way you dress and look is everything. However isn't that what most products of the media suggest? The point is young people love to collect them and admire their appearance; after all, they are trendy little dolls! [edit] Doll HistoryThe four original Bratz known as Cloe (Angel), Yasmin (Pretty Princess), Sasha (Bunny Boo) and Jade (Kool Kat) were launched back in the later months of 2001, however the first Bratz doll was actually produced in 1997 when millions were sold. The original four proved so popular to their young audience that new Bratz Members were introduced to the Bratz Pack.    
Meygan (Funky Fashion Monkey), Nevra (Queen Bee), Fianna (Fragrance), Dana (Sugar Shoes), Tiana, Felicia, Kumi and Kiana all joined the four originals during 2002 and 2003. Since then sets of twins have also been introduced and become popular sellers at most toy stores. Phoebe (Sugar) and Roxxi (Spice), Tess (Solo) And Nona (Star) and Oriana (Punk Skunk) and Valentina (Pretty Pup). The girls are sold seperately but also in themed environments, such as Bratz Rock Angelz Dolls and Bratz Genie Magic Dolls.  Larger lines brought out since the girls include Bratz Boyz, consisting of Cade (The Viper), Cameron (The Blaze), Eitan (The Dragon), Koby (The Panther), Dylan (The Fox) and Bryce. Most of the boys have cute little nicknames shown after their names, just like the girls. Lil Bratz, Bratz Babyz, Bratz Babyz Ponyz and Bratz Big Babyz are also popular spin offs from the original Bratz dolls and can be found in their own themed environments like Lil Bratz Sno Fun and Bratz Big Babyz Bubble Bath Blitz. Right is a picture of Bratz Babyz Ponyz Bonita! [edit] Unique Appearance The appearance of these dolls is their unique selling point as they are so different from similar toys in the past. Their bodies are skinny little things that appear quite out of proportion to their heads and legs; their heads seem rather large and legs a little long. Their eyes are emphasised by their make-up, size and placement and their lips are huge, always tinted with lipstick. Their hair is long and thick – every girls dream, which is often complemented by a funky hat.  The outfits they wear are always trendy and with so many to choose from, the dolls can wear a different set every day. One of the most interesting parts of the Bratz dolls are their shoes; instead of taking the shoe off the foot, the whole foot clips off with the shoe! This makes it much easier to change the shoes often. The Lil Bratz and Bratz Boyz characters have extremely similar features to the originals but the Bratz Big Babyz are somewhat different; their faces are similar continuing the tradition of the slanted eyes and big lips but their hair is short and plastic and they have quite chunky arms and legs (resembling a baby a little more). Their boots are still clumpy and outfits a little extreme but they have some cute extra features, like a bottle to make them appear younger. View all Bratz Toys. Rating: Bratz are the worst things to hit toy shelves and I am appalled that parents allow their kids to play with them. Rating: the bratz are just so cool! i think their fun to entertain little girls. well hate to admit but i am 14-years old and i still play with them. and my mom always around the holidays buys me like bratz dolls or any thing like or with bratz. Rating: I used to think the Bratz were so creepy looking, especially their lips, so I never really got into them before... but now I've finally given in, because their recent clothing designs and styles are sooo wonderful, and now I love them more than anything!
