These dolls are the most collectable Barbie dolls made in recent years and some of the most beautiful. The Fashion Model Collection is also known as the Silkstone collection or the Lingerie Barbies because the first dolls modelled pretty lace underware. These dolls have been produced since 2000. Barbie has released about 8 dolls each year and there are now 47 dolls in the collection.

All the dolls in the collection are super glamorous. Their faces are very different from the usual Barbies, with pouting lips, almond eyes and upturned noses, these dolls look very upper-class. Some are jet-set, like Boulevard Barbie and Lady of the Manor Barbie, while others are modelled around glamorous working women, like Nurse Barbie and Teacher Barbie. This year's new arrivals include dolls based on a British theme which use sumptuous English fabrics like tweed and tartan.

Highland Fling Barbie

This model is wearing bedclothes fit for a stay at the Savoy! Sheer tartan knickers, bra and dressing gown and plush red slippers create a really cozy look. According to designer Robert Best this dolls big sixties style hair was created to soften the masculine look of the tartan.

Barbie isn't going to get caught out by the mean London weather with her trendy ensemble. Even her pooch will stay dry in his cozy doggy jacket

High Tea & Savories Barbie

Ready for afternoon tea at the Ritz, this doll wears a mocha cocktail dress with golden broach and carries a black clutch bag which matches with her shoes and gloves. Her golden hair is in a classy up style and she has immaculate smokey eye shadow with complements her dress.

The Teacher Barbie

With ruffled sleeves and pink bow tie, this teacher looks very primp and proper, but her students must love her very much as they've given her an apple. Her white blonde hair and owl spectacles give her a mature and respectable appearance but her elegant hound’s-tooth skirt and sheer tights show of her younger side.

Lady of the Manor Barbie

Designed by Robert Best this is probably the grandest Barbie of the collection. This aristocratic doll is dressed in a fabulous ball gown with intricate embroidery and real Swarovski crystals! She has a matching shawl and gloves and sparkly brooch and earrings.
