[edit] Further Toys[edit] Barbie Fairytopia Storyline[edit] Overview Barbie Fairytopia is a fairytale movie released in 2005, starring Barbie as the wingless fairy Elina. The movie has a wide range of dolls and toys that accompany it. The range is produced by Mattel under the well-known line 'Barbie' and has been extremely popular with young girls everywhere. Elina is the main character in the movie and the story revolves around her adventure to save Fairytopia and her fairy friends. Along the way Elina meets many new characters (a huge butterfly called Hue to name one) and overcomes her fears. For her selflessness Elina is finally awarded with the most spectacular wings in all of Fairytopia and she can at last join in with her fairy friends. The theme of Barbie Fairytopia is magical and uplifting, teaching young audiences important values and the significance of being selfless. [edit] Character HistoryBarbie Fairytopia is a fairy tale movie in which Barbie plays the beautiful flower fairy Elina. Elina longs to have wings like the other fairies but unfortunately she is a wingless fairy. In the faraway land of Fairytopia, Elina lives amongst the flowers of a magical meadow but awakens one day to find her flower meadow is sick and her fairy friends can no longer fly. Elina sets off with her friend Bibble (a clumsy, but lovable puffball) in search of Azura, a fairy guardian, to see if she can help. She uncovers evil Laverna's plot to steal power from the Enchantress (ruler of Fairytopia) and sets off on an amazing adventure to protect Fairytopia. Laverna has invented a potion that has made all the fairies weak and unable to fly, but Elina is not affected by the potion (as she has no wings) and has the power to ruin evil Laverna's plot. When Laverna realises this she promises to give Elina beautiful wings if she does not ruin the plot, however Elina refuses and saves Fairytopia. For her selflessness, the Enchantress rewards Elina with the most spectacular wings the whole of Fairytopia has ever seen. The theme of the movie Barbie Fairytopia is magical with beautiful fairies, but it also has an underlying morality that shows the power of having a selfless heart. Elina's adventure takes her to beautiful places and she meets many new characters along her way. The product line Barbie Fairytopia is inspired by the movie and there are so many beautiful toys and accessories for young children to get their hands on. Barbie Fairytopia Dolls really are extremely pretty and it is easy to recreate the magic of the movie with them. [edit] Characters, Dresses and WingsBarbie Fairytopia is a story filled with magic and fairies - every young girls dream! All the Dolls and toys are inspired by the movie; the product line is great. The Barbie Fairytopia Elina Doll wears a beautiful pink dress in the shape of a flower with magical light-up fiber optic wings. The Dandelion Doll and the Dahlia Doll are inspired by Elina's best friends in the movie, and both have pretty pastel skin tones and delicate leg art. The Barbie Fairytopia Dandelion Doll is dressed in a pale yellow dress and has bright red hair and the Barbie Fairytopia Dahlia Doll wears a pale green dress and has purple hair. There are so many beautiful dolls in this line, each with their own individual character and detail. The Little Lands Peony House Playset is modelled on Elina's magical flower home and is fantastic to let imaginations run free.
