[edit] Product Description Barbie and her friends are hittin' the beaches of California in this 'Cali Girl Barbie' theme. There have been different waves of the collection but Summer (Blaine's sister) appeared in the second wave, along with Barbie, Teresa and Blaine. The characters wear the trendiest beachwear and show off their sun-tanned figures. The best part about this theme is that all the dolls come smelling just like suntan lotion - so not only do they look fab but they smell good too! The girls also come with painted toe nails, which is a great feature in this theme. However, their feet have been redesigned to allow for this so old Barbie shoes won't fit - but who needs shoes at the beach anyway! The characters also come with a bottle of suntan lotion to make sure they keep their bronzed complexion and don't burn, and some funky matching sunglasses. The clothes the dolls wear are simple, yet stylish and they are all set to have some beach fun! The Cali Girl collection gives older Barbie fans something more grown up to play with - those who have perhaps grown out of the fairytale Barbie themes e.g. Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. The competition in the market has grown stronger over the years, particularly with the launch of the Bratz dolls in 2001, so Barbie must find new ways to keep up to scratch!
[edit] Summer's Outfit and Appearance  Summer is beautiful in this collection; she has long brown hair with red lowlights in and wears it in a trendy centre parting. She pulls the back up into a topknot and sits her funky green sunglasses in the centre of her head. The glasses actually fit on her face too, but they probably don't protect her eyes much from the sun though! Summer has brown and green eyes, which match her hair and her outfit so the look is stunning. She wears light brown eye shadow to emphasise her eyes and her eyelashes are all individually separated with black mascara. Summer wears a touch of pink blusher to make her cheeks glow and completes the look with light pink lipstick. Her mouth is open and slightly smiling, and her gorgeous white teeth are on display. Her golden complexion gives Summer a radiant glow and she wears cute white earrings that add a touch of fun to her look. Summer has yellow/green painted toe nails in this collection that decorates her cute little feet!  All the dolls in this collection wear simple outfits, but Summer definitely looks ready to hit the waves in her striking colours. She wears a pale green top with white stitching detail around the edges and a thick white line that goes from one sleeve, across her chest, and down the other sleeve. Across the front of her top is written 'Summer' in big white letters and there is a picture of a white seabird just above the 'e' of her name. The top feels like stretchy wet suit material - perfect if she's planning on doing a bit of surfing! The top does up at the back with velco so can be easily taken off and put back on. Summer wears this with some stylish brown mini shorts that really show off her long legs and flat stomach. They have a white waistband with a blue piece of material running all the way around. There is a picture of a white flower on the right side and they have a little white bow at the top. Again, they do up at the back with velcro so can easily be taken on or off. Summer carries a little bottle of suntan lotion wherever she goes to ensure an even tan and no peeling! Her look is fresh and flirty and whether she's surfing or in the volleyball courts, Summer will look stunning.
