Barbie and her friends are making the most of the sun, sea and surf on the California beaches in this 'Cali Girl Barbie' Collection. Blaine is Barbie's new boyfriend in this beach theme and replaces her long term ex Ken. Blaine was introduced in the second wave of Cali Girl dolls, along with Barbie, Teresa and Summer. In this theme, Barbie and all her friends show off their latest beach gear and trendy accessories. All the dolls have a tanned complexion and actually smell like suntan lotion! Blaine looks younger and broader than Barbie's ex and looks great in his beachwear! The Cali Girl collection is aimed at older girls, those who have perhaps grown out of the fairytale Barbie. With such strong competition in the market (e.g. from the Bratz girls), Barbie has had to bring out new themes for her popularity to remain. This Cali Girl theme is fab; all the girls have painted toe nails too - which Blaine obviously doesn't! There have been different waves of this collection and it appears to be a follow on from Malibu Barbie. Blaine certainly has the right style for the beaches of California; his outfit is perfect for riding the waves!

Blaine's Appearance

Blaine has golden blonde hair that is styled in a centre parting. He seems to have gone a bit crazy with the hair gel as his hair will not move! It doesn't look as hard as it feels though and it looks like the kind of haircut a surfer would have. Blaine has tiny green eyes and thick eyebrows. He has a young looking face, and he's been said to look less dad like than Ken! He wears a black and red top with a high neck and short sleeves. The front feels like wetsuit material and there is a picture of a little dolphin on his chest. The top does up at the back with velcro and he looks all set to hit the waves! Blaine also wears long brown shorts with cream palm trees on and they reach down to just above his knees. They have great detail on and a little brown bow at the front. Blaine has really broad shoulders and a hint of a six-pack under his top! There's not much else to the Blaine doll - stylish but simple. With his outfit sorted he looks ready to whisk Barbie off into the sunset on his jet ski. The Blaine doll was a welcome addition to the Cali Girl collection and it's great to see a hot new guy appear on the scene.

The Cali Girl range provides a great theme for Barbie fans who have grown out of the traditional fairytale Barbie. This collection is full of fashion tops and shorts, great accessories and sun kissed tans. The best part is that the dolls smell like suntan lotion, so not only do they all look great but they smell great too! Blaine has a great golden tan and glows with radiance - his new love Barbie may also be something to do with that though! California beaches are obviously a great place for Blaine to hang out - he looks relaxed and ready for some fun! The Cali Boy Blaine doll comes with the following features and accessories:
