Star Wars Chubbies

June 4th, 2007

Darth Vader ChubbyStar Wars Chubbies are set to be the next in thing for Star Wars collectors everywhere. They are cartoony looking plastic dolls a bit like the Russian dolls that open up to reveal a smaller version each time. There are currently six in the collection: Obi-Wan Kenobe, Darth Vader, Wookiees, Sith, General Grievous and C-3PO. Each doll opens up to reveal the evolution of the character in the form of two smaller figures – quite a cool idea really!

Apparently, many people take their chubbies to work and sit them on their desks, I’ve also heard that they can be quite distracting enticing you to open them and close them all the time. Anyway if you need some friends in your office then these chubbies could be for you!

Available at Firebox for £7.95 (Darth Vader £9.95).

May 22nd, 2007

Flat Ryder in LauncherWhen I think of toy racing cars the word ‘flat’ doesn’t normally cross my mind but here we have it – Flat Ryderz, the ultimate flat race cars! The toy is nothing like I’ve seen before, simply press the roof and the car goes from 3.5cm tall to 1cm flat in a split second. Press the tail and it pops back up into shape again.

You can place your Flat Ryder car into the launcher and race against other people, when you launch the car it is completely flat and when they’re fired out they grow again!

There are loads of different colours and designs to choose from and many accessories to make the race even more fun. See the official Flat Ryderz Website for information about prices and packages.

April 20th, 2007

Kondo Robot in New A-621 GENEX SuitThe KHR-2HV, the second generation humanoid robot kit from Kondo has just been upgraded to the A-621 GENEX suit to give it a bit more style. Many commented that the KHR-2HV wasn’t exactly the best looking robot the world has seen and to be honest looked more like it had been made out of leftover metal pieces from a scrap yard!

Kondo’s also supplying a range of soccer uniforms that will be sold separately and are expected to cost about $10. The suit will cost around $152 (approx. £75) and will be launched in Japan in the next few weeks.

Want a Jelly Bath? Meet Gelli Baff

March 11th, 2007

Gelli BaffGelli Baff is quite possibly the greatest innovation in kids bath time technology since Bubble Bath was invented. The idea is simple. Turn a bath of water into a bath of glorious, thick, goo.

You simply run a shallow bath (5-6cm deep), turn off the tap, add a sachet of the gelli baff powder and then all water will magically turn into jelly. When you have finished, there is another sachet of powder to add, which turns all the jelly back to water, so that it can be drained away.

Gelli Baff comes in a range of 4 colours, and costs £4.99 per 300ml box.
